1. What is your Company about?
FTO Wedding Films produce films that create an artistic impression of a wedding day. A wedding film is much more than just a video recording of a wedding day – it is an artistic and emotive impression of the day. Our production capabilities are the perfect blend of art and technology.

As artist we shoot and edit films that tell the emotional story of a wedding. From a technical point of view we have 10 years of film production experience in the corporate and commercial fields. Bringing these two capabilities together is what FTO Wedding Films does best.

2. What do you have to offer brides-to-be out there?
The first port of call for any bride when it comes to recording their wedding day has been and always will be the photography. Capturing the important moments both staged and incidental and preserving them as instants of the day is the specialised role of the photographer. So what can a film offer that photography doesn’t?

There are two key things: motion and emotion. It goes without saying that films are made up of a series of moving stills, however what is significant about this is the fact that a film is able to capture the emotion and intimacy of the bridal couple’s interaction in a way that goes beyond photography. It is the moments between the photographs where the film magic happens and it is this that FTO Wedding Films strives to capture. We offer brides-to-be the emotional story of their day in the form of a film.

Each bride-to-be also has their own ideas of what they would like out of the wedding film which we try as far as possible to incorporate.

3. What do you reckon is the one thing that makes your establishment so successful?
Producing a successful wedding film is not just about shooting a series of beautiful images and editing them together in sequence. We don’t just produce films that are necessarily just technically correct.
We produce films that have a unique artistic and emotive feel to them both in terms of how they are shot and how they are edited. With a few exceptions the narrative component to a wedding is very similar and familiar to us. A wedding film therefore, should not necessarily retell that story in chronological order, but rather tell the emotional story of the wedding. This is done through a process of combining the individual shots with a relevant piece of music in our unique way.

4. Regarding Consultations – what do you offer in terms of this?
It is really important to meet with the bride and groom prior to the wedding in order to get an understanding of the specifics of their wedding and their expectation of the film.

5. Are you currently taking on any exciting ventures?
We were proud to be the official Videographer for the SA Weddings Bride of the Year on 21 April 2012. We also have a number of awesome wedding films lined up for production including some involving international travel!

FTO Wedding Films will be sponsoring the Bride of the Year competition to be held at Clearwater Mall on 21 April 2012. This prestigious event now in its 11th year is hosted by SA Weddings and is South Africa’s premier bridal competition.
